Deeway Educational Services supports school leaders and teachers towards improving pedagogical practices in reading and mathematics across K-12 classrooms. We are led by the belief that every school’s ability to provide quality instruction hinges on an understanding and monitoring of three key components:
Our team comprises educators across New York City and Nassau County, including experienced school principal and mathematics director. Deeway Educational Services works with school leaders and teacher teams to design robust, standards-based curriculum relevant to the needs and interests of various student groups. Through cycles of observation, feedback and coaching, teachers receive instructional support to address identified areas for improvement of pedagogy. Deeway Educational Services has worked with administrators in creating systems and structures to monitor student learning and engage teachers in the process of analyzing and responding to student data. As a result, schools have seen marked improvement in teacher practice and student outcomes.
With over 29 years of experience as a classroom teacher and school administrator, Deon Edwards is committed to supporting teachers and administrators in providing quality instruction in every classroom. As a Department of Education Talent Coach she has trained principals and assistant principals in using the Danielson Framework as a lens through which to develop pedagogical practices. She believes improvement of instruction begins with coaching and supporting instructional leaders. As school principal for a decade, she has led professional development workshops, established teacher instructional and data inquiry teams, trained assistant principals in leading instruction and supported principals in instructional decision-making.
